The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a museum funded by the LVMH group and dedicated to contemporary art, located in the Jardin d'Acclimatation, in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton was created by the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) to ensure the continuation of its philanthropic activities, which began in 1990.
The building's construction project was entrusted by Bernard Arnault to architect Frank Gehry in 2001.
The building's glass architecture is inspired by the Grand Palais, but also pays homage to the glass structures that adorned the Jardin d'Acclimatation from 1893 onwards. Frank Gehry designed a building resembling a sailboat, seemingly in motion amidst the natural beauty of the Bois de Boulogne.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton was inaugurated on October 20, 2014.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a museum dedicated to contemporary and modern art, located south of the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
It houses a permanent collection comprised of works belonging to the Fondation or the personal collection of Bernard Arnault, spanning modern art and contemporary creation, as well as temporary exhibitions.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton also serves as a venue for debates, seminars, and conferences, and includes a modular auditorium that hosts live performances, concerts, film screenings, and more.
